Happy New Year from MARS!
We at MARS wish to thank everyone who had a part in our 2010 activities. We were pleased with the steady attendance to our monthly lectures, and with the good turnout to the Old Fashioned Election Day Sermon. We are blessed by your attendance and all the other ways that you have helped us. We are encouraged also by those who have helped in some special way.
When we established “the group” we recognized that the crisis in today’s Church is a crisis of thought…the ineffectiveness of the church to be salt and light being due to either inability or unwillingness to apply scriptural truths to real life issues; in short, lazy thinking. We are encouraged by the many discussions we have had and heard…it is evident that people arethinking, which is what we have hoped to accomplish! We hope that everyone who has attended our meetings has found a measure of joy in a renewed thought life.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. –Romans 12:2
In 2011 we will endeavor to build on the results of 2010. Look for the lecture series to resume on January 18th when Joel will present “Environmentalism in the Bible”, and to continue on the third Tuesday of each month. Stay tuned for other special activities that are in the works for 2011.
From the MARS staff to all of you, we trust that you have had a Merry Christmas, and wish you a Happy New Year!
