MARS Board Member Bob Salzman Now Home with the Lord
With great sadness we pass along the news of the passing of one of our MARS board members, Dr. Bob Salzman. Bob entered the presence of our Savior yesterday, Friday, Jan. 22nd, as a result of a heart attack. We rejoice in Bob’s eternal salvation, yet feel great loss to ourselves at his passing.
We will greatly miss Bob’s friendship and fellowship, as well as his vast knowledge and experience, and wise insights and advice as a board member. A full obituary is posted here.
Bob served the Lord for nearly 50 years as a pastor, and a very prominent figure in founding the Christian School movement in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He founded many schools and advanced Christian education, especially in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Canada. As a pastor, he served in the Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, the Bible Fellowship Church of Walnutport, and the Edson Baptist Church of Edson, Alberta Canada. Bob served as a missionary to Canada, and worked with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada, teaching at the Winnipeg Bible College and Seminary.
Bob was also the founder and CEO of Bridgewater Academy, providing home school curricula, and the Executive Director of the Essential Learning Institute. Bob provided consulting services to 600 schools, as well as being a speaker and presenter at educational conferences. He was also the President of the National Association of Private Schools.
Bob leaves behind his wife Patti, six children, and many grandchildren. Please pray for them in this difficult time.
